Since 1952, PARCA (Partners & Advocates for Remarkable Children & Adults) has been dedicated to empowering individuals with developmental disabilities to live as independently as possible and lead fulfilling lives. Through a range of programs and services, PARCA fosters an environment of support and community, helping clients build self-confidence, develop vital skills, and achieve their full potential for happiness and independence. These programs include everything from individualized family support to services focused on education, housing, healthcare, and legal rights.
PARCA also offers a variety of community activities, including parent and sibling support groups, recreational programs, and advocacy efforts. The organization runs the REACH program, which provides before- and after-school care for children aged 4 to 13, as well as the CLO (Community Living Options) program, which offers specialized independent living skills training in areas like budgeting, cooking, safety, and job readiness. Additionally, PARCA operates independent living residences and group homes, providing residents with the opportunity to live semi-independently while receiving the staff support they need to thrive. The PARCA Auxiliary is a dedicated group of volunteers passionate about supporting the vital mission of the PARCA Organization. Since our founding, the Auxiliary has been committed to enriching the lives of individuals and families within our community. We organize a variety of social events throughout the year, including an annual Christmas and Halloween party, bowling outings, and Secret Santa exchanges, fostering a sense of camaraderie and belonging.
The Auxiliary is the driving force behind PARCA's fundraising efforts, with our annual Springtime Luncheon & Fashion Show being our signature event. This highly anticipated community gathering attracts hundreds of attendees from across the Bay Area each year, raising significant funds and awareness for PARCA's crucial programs.
To date, the dedicated efforts of the PARCA Auxiliary have resulted in over $5.5 Million raised for PARCA. All proceeds from the Luncheon & Fashion Show, as well as other year-round fundraising initiatives, are directly invested in supporting PARCA's programs and empowering individuals within our community.
The funds raised by the Auxiliary are crucial for enabling the PARCA Organization to deliver a comprehensive range of vital programs and services. These programs create an extended family atmosphere, fostering self-confidence and skill development to empower clients to achieve their goals and reach their full potential for happiness and independence. PARCA also offers valuable family support services and activities.
